Clara was born in Colombia, since she was a girl her passion was drawing and painting. She finished high school and Drawing Advertisement Design in Bogotá. Later on, Clara started working on advertising, but she never left behind her passion. Over the years she took several courses and workshops with different recognized Colombian artists. During 1986 she decides to dedicate all her time to art, defining her technique in oil on canvas and the theme for her paintings: exotic flowers, tropical fruits and Colombian bamboo (Guadua). Clara has diversified her technique on canvas, to different materials such as paper, wood and hand made paper by the native Colombian tribes Tanimucas and Ticunas.

A few years ago she moved to Dallas. During the 25th Trinity Arts Guild of Bedford in 2003 she won Honorable Mention with the painting "Red and Green". Clara has also participated in two exhibitions in the Bath HouseCultural Center.
