"To convey an overall impression of light." B.D. Pennington strives to expand on this tenet of fine art photography by including an immediate sense of texture and depth to his work. To that end, B.D. Pennington seeks out imagery with those inherent qualities that enable him to realize his vision. His unique blending of imagination, technology and meticulous craftsmanship brings forth a timeless appeal of the black and white print.
B.D. Pennington is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas and has spent the past 15 years creating photographic images, both scenic and commercial. His scenic images of Mexico are inspired by more than 35 years of travel in that country as well as his interest in Mesoamerican history.
Every print is exposed on silver gelatin photographic paper, hand processed, selenium toned and washed to archival standards. The print is then mounted on pH-neutral, 100% cotton museum board using acid-free mounting tissue. From exposure to mounting, B.D. Pennington is the sole craftsman.
